SHADOW CREEK DEVELOPMENT / HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS
Shadow Creek is a 500-acre master-planned community located southeast of Buda, Texas in Hays County. The community, consisting of approximately 1440 single-family homes, is easily accessible from IH-35 via Windy Hill Road (131). When completed, Shadow Creek will contain a recreational area along with 9 greenbelt lots consisting of approximately 175 acres. The construction of Shadow Creek Subdivision began in late 2004 and will be completed in six distinct phases over the next three years.
C Faulkner Engineering is responsible for providing platting and design, Municipal Utility District creation, permitting, surveying and construction administration for the development of Shadow Creek. CFE’s surveying department is conducting a boundary survey, design survey, lot staking and construction staking for the tract. CFE is preparing roadway plans for all local streets within the subdivision to provide dual access via Windy Hill Road. Roadways are also being designed for extension into future developments. As part of the utility design, CFE is working with El Paso Field Services to relocate an existing 4” gas line that runs thru the center of the property. CFE has also been coordinating with LCRA to ensure that proposed development across and along the right of way of an existing transmission line is safely constructed. Design of the wastewater system involves the construction of several lift stations and a treatment plant, along with a reirrigation system. Allowance for future connection to a proposed regional wastewater treatment plant is also being considered. Water service in Shadow Creek will be provided by an existing line along Windy Hill Road and a future GBRA water main that is to run parallel to the realigned gas line. An elevated water tank will also be placed at the northern portion of the subdivision as part of the proposed Goforth Water Supply Corporation design.
